Quality Assurance Inspector

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates inspection procedures for statistical process control (SPC) part capability runs.Provide inspection and SPC data to Application Engineers for review.Ability to create part inspection programs for complex parts.Provide Gage R and R reports and perform CMM correlation with customer’s CMM.Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste and inputting data into quality database (SAP).Provide assistance to Applications Engineers in part targeting and development.Work with Sales and Engineering to review and qualify appropriate delivery commitments for quotations supplied to our customers.Provide operational input and guidance to Engineering / Technical staff to improve product development, process improvement and process capabilities.Develop incoming inspection procedures and guidelines to increase efficiency and performance.Perform dimensional and functional analysis at incoming inspection using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, etc. against production drawings.Reject parts that do not meet incoming quality and inform purchasing and provide documentation of non-conformance.Ensures measurement equipment is calibrated in regular intervals and operating correctly by following operating instructions.Promotes, maintains and enforces safe and healthy working conditions in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards.Other duties as assigned by management.QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent required.BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Quality Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.3+ years of manufacturing/ quality experience in a highly diverse environment required.3+ years of experience in Zeiss Calypso programming required, (certification preferred).Six Sigma / 5S / Lean Manufacturing training a plus.Experience in the machine tool industry and/or automotive industry is preferred.Decision maker with a positive attitude and the ability to multi-task.Self-motivated with strong customer service skills.High organizational, planning and problem solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.Understanding of the ISO9001 quality standards is preferred.SAP experience a plus.Job Type: Full-timeJob Location:Charlotte, NCRequired education:High school or equivalentRequired experience:manufacturing/ quality in a highly diverse environment: 3 yearsZeiss Calypso programming: 3 years
