Position: Patient Care Technician
Department: 5 South Tower Orthopedics
Schedule: Full-Time, Day, 7am - 7pm (Three 12-hours shift per week)
Location: St Vincent's Birmingham (Downtown)
What you will do:
As a Patient Care Technician - (PCT) with St. Vincent's Health System-AL, you will have the opportunity to perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision in the assigned area.
Aids with entry and exit of patients.
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment.
What you will need:
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
High school diploma or GED required
1 year of PCT, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Home Health Aide experience or currently enrolled in nursing program, is preferred

We are currently in a large renovation project to create more patient rooms and waiting areas. St. Vincent's provides care for many patients within the downtown area and surrounding communities.
