JOB SUMMARY


This position is responsible for expediting and facilitating the flow of materials to and from various UIC departments. He/she also makes sure that the right materials arrive in a timely manner, inspects goods upon delivery to ensure the level of quality and quantity and to ensure adherence to specifications. This position will work directly with vendors to ensure accurate and on time delivery of goods to appropriate locations and frequently use filings and computer systems to maintain organization.


Duties & Responsibilities



  • Expedite activities or purchase items at various vendors to meet project schedules

  • Track orders, receive goods, place products into inventory

  • Record and maintain inventory of quantity, material type, parts received and distributed, manually or by using a computer

  • Confer with supervisors to determine overdue materials and parts and to inform supervisors about the status of the product(s)

  • Serve as the point of contact for traveling employees

  • Maintain company vehicles

  • Secure the main headquarters office

  • Frequently check-in with suppliers to ensure timely delivery on agreed date

  • Responsible for managing timely deliveries

  • Man-Haul duty for UIC Parent employees

  • Serve as the main postage meter technician

  • Pick up and deliver mail to include inter-office mail, daily from the local USPS and UIC departments

  • Pick up, deliver and transport special high priority Board materials as requested by the BOD and/or Director of Stock

  • Additional job duties as assigned Requirements QUALIFICATIONS


Education:



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred


Certificate(s) / License(s):



  • Valid Alaska Driver's License and three (3) year clean driving record. Employee must follow all Authorized driver Policy Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage

  • Ability to pass a Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening, and must follow all Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing program requirements

  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy


Abilities



  • Must be able to lift at least 70-120 pounds

  • Must be dependable and trustworthy to handle cash and confidential information

  • Must be able to meet schedules and deadlines

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
