Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Sector is looking for a Director 1 Programs to join our team of qualified, diverse, individuals in the Global Operations organization. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.


Responsibilities:


This position leads the production efforts for F-35 Center Fuselage integrated product team. This position will manage and integrate product assembly and delivery into an effective high performance team in coordination with functional management and shared services. This position also insures that the operations and facilities have the capabilities and resources required to meet current and future needs. This position requires and is responsible for on-time delivery of high quality products that meets all contractual requirements and business objectives. Responsible to maintain a clean and safe environment utilizing and improving established factory accountability processes. This position provides leadership that fosters motivation and communication. Responsible for the continuous improvement of people, products, processes, systems and services by utilizing common best practices, and other appropriate tools and techniques. Responsible for the management and mitigation of program and team risk. The Center Fuselage IPT includes the following functions: Manufacturing, Engineering (Design, Liaison, Stress, Specialty), Manufacturing Engineering, Global Mission Excellence, Industrial Engineering, and Global Supply Chain.


Basic Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's Degree with 9 years of aerospace experience and/or military experience in one or more of the following: Program/Project Management, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Global Supply Chain,Tooling, Industrial Engineering and Quality; 7 years with a Master's degree




  • 7 years of proven leadership experience



  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program access as required


Preferred Qualifications:




  • Master's Degree in business related or technical field




  • Previous F-35 Program / Manufacturing Experience



  • Previous EVMS (Earned Value Management Systems) or cost account manager experience
