The 70-room Comfort Inn to south of Sacramento area is seeking a highly motivated General Manager, to lead our team in all aspects of hotel operations, guest relations and sales. The ideal applicant shall have strong initiative and desire for achievement. Must be able to drive sales, plan and manage the operations of the hotel, go above and beyond customer satisfaction, and achieve objectives and revenue performance.
As General Manager, the candidate will manage all departments and aspects of the property. The GM will ensure that proper standards, policies, procedures and company culture are being adhered to and executed by each staff member. The GM will also advise on the hotel's budget, marketing plans, business plans, and manage within approved plans and objectives. You must actively participate in the hotel sales & marketing efforts and assist with developing annual marketing plans. You must inspect the property on a regular basis and enforce the implementation of actions towards the safety, comfort, and cleanliness of the hotel and guest satisfaction.
Must have proven experience as a General Manager with 'Comfort Inn & Suites' brand for a minimum of 3 years;
Must have the knowledge to contribute and provide forecasts, reports and budgets with the acute understanding of how daily occupancy levels and guest room rates interact to ensure maximum revenue and profit.
Must have a firm understanding of hospitality accounting procedures and methods.
Must have proven track record of meeting budgets, understanding P&L statements, and cost controls.
Must have clear and concise communication both written and oral.
Must have strong leadership and analytical skills, excellent time management skills, and must be detail oriented.
Must be comfortable with M.S. office programs and reasonable typing speed.
Must be a decisive, educated facilitator, experienced in resolving conflicts.
Local area market experience is a plus.
A degree in hotel or hospitality management is a plus.
