Systems Administrator (Linux)
Location: Gainesville, Florida
Be part of a team that is powered by open-source software! Servers run Debian GNU/Linux, with extensive use of Xen virtualization, RAID, LVM, LDAP, Corosync and Pacemaker. In addition to network configuration, our Network Operations Center provides and supports web development and production environments, database access, email services, phones and in-house communication software. (A separate team manages client workstations so no Windows experience is needed.)
â¢Must be able to work on-site in Gainesville, Florida.
â¢Experience managing Linux servers, preferably Debian based.
â¢Programming experience, preferably with Bash, Python and/or PHP.
â¢Experience with Apache and MySQL.
â¢On-call paging with some weekend scheduling, as needed.
â¢Must be a strong critical thinker, detail oriented, confidential and trustworthy.
â¢4-5 years experience in a professional Linux environment a plus.
â¢Database: MySQL high availability that includes replication, troubleshooting and optimization.
â¢Directory: Open LDAP
â¢Disk tools: LVM, Samba, Smartd, mdraid
â¢Email: Postfix, Dovecot, Sieve, SpamAssassin, ClamAV, Roundcube.
â¢High-availability/clustering: IPVS, Corosync, Pacemaker, ldirectord, DRBD, RAID (hardware based)
â¢Jabber IM: Openfire
â¢Security: IPTables/Nftables, LUKS, OpenVPN, SSL, SSH
â¢Version Control: Mercurial, Git, Subversion, and CVS
â¢Web: Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Squid, MediaWiki
