Job Description: Benefits Consultant. Requires excellent communication skills, ability to conduct a needs analysis and respond quickly to clients to assist them with their needs.
Type 15 to 20 wpm
State Insurance License or
Ability to take a 4 day class and pass a state Insurance exam
Ability to pass a background check
Must have a computer with a fast enough processor to transition up to 4 Internet screens quickly
Must have a land line or cell phone with 2500 minutes
Must be self motivated and not afraid to ask questions
Must have a home office set up with a quiet place to work
A back ground in consulting, sales or HR benefits. Strong communication skills with ability to enunciate, pace and control tone at the same level as your clients. Psychology major background a plus. Prior insurance or Human Resource experience a plus.
Position Activity: Most of our new customers go online to Google. They search Healthcare reform or insurance trying to get help with abiding by the new Healthcare Reform laws requiring them to have medical insurance. When they enter their information, our phone rings and connects the client to you. The client is now on the phone with you and also online. You will give them a pin number to type into their computer which will allow you to show them options based on their needs. The client does not have to be more computer savvy than they were to find you. Not outbound calls other than possible call backs but this is not typical.
