The Wells Fargo Auto's Third Party Operational Review Program (Program) is seeking an Operational Risk Consultant to join the team and help develop and maintain a strong operational excellence culture. Wells Fargo Auto Business Excellence team has established a Third Party Risk Management Operational Review Program which provides robust control monitoring and oversight of Third Party Service Providers (TPSP) by identifying TPSP controls through Business Process Mapping (BPM), control evaluation through Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and testing of TPSP controls during onsite and remote reviews. This Program assists Wells Fargo Auto in meeting the requirements of the Third Party Risk Management program.

The successful candidate will have experience in both risk and operations. Experience with managing TPSP relationships, including identifying and evaluating key TPSP controls, is a critical component to understanding how to apply risk principals to the management of these relationships. The Operational Risk Consultant will work with the Onboarding Specialist, Business Owner, TPSPs, and various stakeholders (e.g. Compliance, Control Group, etc.) in developing and documenting the outsourced business process, identification of TPSP controls associated with the outsourced business process, and the evaluation of the TPSP controls for new WF Auto TPSP and categories as applicable.

Specific Job Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Onboarding Specialist, Business Owners, and Engagement Managers with the build out of monitoring and oversight activities being performed on our behalf by TPSPs.

  • Execute annual process mapping inventory maintenance and related process mapping, risk and control assessment, gap identification to align with category Third Party Oversight Plans (TPOP) identified and documented during onboarding of category and/or TPSP.

  • Develop and execute Self-Assurance activities to ensure Engagement Manager Program adherence to internal procedures.

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities, and implement routines to drive effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Influence Engagement Management Team and Front Line Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as applicable to resolve issues and strengthen internal controls.

  • Develop subject matter expertise and a thorough understanding of Wells Fargo Auto processes reviewed.

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities, and implement routines to drive effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Influence Engagement Management Team and Front Line Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as applicable to resolve issues and strengthen internal controls.

  • Develop subject matter expertise and a thorough understanding of Wells Fargo Auto processes reviewed.

Additionally, this role will work with business and risk partners to ensure the on-time execution and delivery of monitoring and oversight activities in support of Third Party Risk Management.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
