LOSS PREVENTION INVESTIGATOR I


GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE


The Loss Prevention Investigator I (LPI) leads the company in investigating and resolving internal theft issues. The LPI works collaboratively with various business partners to leverage all available tools to reduce company exposure loss by internal theft and dishonesty. The LPI is responsible for all investigations assigned by the Loss Prevention Investigations Manager (LPIM). Based on independent review and decision, the LPI will make appropriate recommendations and communicate effectively with Loss Prevention and Human Resources.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Analyze data and utilize remote video to initiate and drive investigations pertaining to fraud and inventory loss

  • Adhere to established WZ interview methods while closing internal fraud cases in a fair and ethical manner

  • Assist in developing and conducting comprehensive Audits as directed by the Manager of Investigations

  • Lead store and corporate initiatives through meetings, one on one conversations and companywide communication

  • Develop and champion workplace violence, physical security and active shooter protocols

  • Review and retain video for GL and WC claims, communicating with HR as required

  • Utilize, update and leverage case management database to develop consistent field communication and reporting

  • Review current and historical accident trends to reduce frequency and severity of workplace accidents

  • Attend and audit SKU based inventories reviewing; warehouse organization, sales floor preparation, count accuracy and item file management

  • Develop external relationships and network within industry memberships that focus on safety investigations, shrink reduction, innovation and technology

  • Participate in initiatives and special projects to strengthen overall Loss Prevention department

  • Actively search out operational knowledge and current best practices to better understand store operations

  • Provide executive level reporting to Manger of Investigations on a weekly basis for company review in regards to completed investigations and audits, highlighting common and reoccurring opportunities


JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • (2) years Loss Prevention experience in a multi-unit retail environment preferred

  • Wicklander-Zulawski Interviewing and Interrogation certification preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise conducting investigations, interviews and interrogations preferred

  • Solid working knowledge of current technology and its application to the role (CCTV, Kronos, POS systems, case management software, exception-based reporting etc.)

  • Knowledge of OSHA claim reporting and general safety guidelines.

  • Knowledge of SKU based inventory program and ability to read and interpret financial reporting related to outcomes

  • Exceptional written, verbal, electronic communication and group presentation skills

  • Proven ability to drive consensus at all levels of the enterprise through clear, concise and complete information

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and to gain buy in and support of multiple partners to ensure successful internal program outcomes

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills including report development skills to interpret data and present summary conclusions in an understandable format

  • Can be counted on to deliver results that are of the highest operational integrity with a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated and advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint) and ability to learn new software programs with minimal training


WORKING CONDITIONS



  • Normal office demands, able to sit for extended periods of time in an office setting, reviewing video

  • Flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business (schedule may include evenings, weekends and holidays)
