The Farm House is a small farm-to-table cafe located on Balfour Farm in Pittsfield, ME. We serve breakfast and lunch wed-sat and host special events(dinners and brunches on Sundays). We focus on utilizing food produced by our own farm and other Maine farmers.
The Job: Chef is be responsible for daily service, coordinating menu development and food sourcing with management, and production baking 2-3 days per week. This is a hands on, year round, full time position that requires dedication and flexibility. We desire 3-5 years experience in food service, management and/or catering.
The place: Pittsfield is a central Maine town of about 4200 people. Balfour Farm is an organic dairy farm that produces cheeses and yogurts in the farmstead creamery. We also grow organic poultry, woodland pork and occasionally beef. There is two large greenhouses and a garden plot for growing kitchen supplies. The town is experiencing a regeneration of agricultural and food related business growth as well as business development within the town. Pittsfield is home to Maine Central Institute, Cianbro Corp, and many other fine businesses.
