Job Description

As the Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) Engineer at Missiles and Fire Control in Chelmsford, you'll work on a broad range of programs in both a manufacturing and administrative environment. Working side by side with program representatives, management, and quality/manufacturing/component engineers, you'll use your education, experience, and growing expertise to ensure compliance and execution to unique customer requirements.

In this role you will:

  • Manage Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) Plan compliance and execution on manufacturing of products that defend our country and provide oversight to an extensive supply chain providing products critical to Mission Success

  • Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineering assignments

  • Tackle problems and find innovative solutions and ensure Customer satisfaction

  • Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes, prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, review specifications, evaluate and analyze supplier test & data reports

  • Coordinate with other disciplines such as Component Engineering, Production Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Global Supply Chain

  • Directly interface with PMP change board members

  • Manage and deliver technical data packages through approval cycles (SDRLs)

Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of that city. Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshire's White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Where can you get to from Chelmsford? Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north.

It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 plus years of professional experience

  • Materials Engineering, Materials Science or Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts related background and/or field of study

  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing related guidance to cross-functional personnel

  • Familiar with materials and process engineering disciplines such as adhesives, bonding, soldering, lead forming, coating, failure analysis, and production operations

  • Familiar with RF hybrid microelectronic parts, materials, and processes

  • Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)

  • Non-conformance and failure analysis disposition experience

  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance, therefore US Citizenship is required
