Position Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mappers with an inhouse data platform mapping legacy source data to strategic canonical formats and fragments

  • Develop yaml configurations driving joiner and transformer logic

  • Design and develop microservice APIs to expose externalized data

  • Configure Kafka topics and develop Kafka producer and consumer services

  • Develop monitoring and metric tools related to the mapping and access of the externalized data

  • Create quick working proof of concepts to validate and formalize solutions and design

  • Contribute to the build/deploy/release process and find ways to automate and improve our pipeline at every step

  • Bring innovative ideas to help continuously improve the M&R portfolio including the design, build, deploy, test and runtime within cloud ecosystems

  • Participate in debugging and performance tuning in a high performance cloud platform

  • A great attitude and the passion and persistence to solve complex problems

  • Manage engineering resources as well as project tasks and workload prioritization

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience building and shipping production web enabled software in a scaled distributed environment

  • 5+ years implementing RESTful microservices

  • 5+ years with JSON and/or Avro message formats

  • 3+ years with Kafka or similar pub/sub technology

  • 5+ years with Spring framework / Spring boot

  • 5+ years in Java (preferably java 8+) or GoLang

  • Knowledge of a variety of modern database technologies (mySQL/relational as well as NoSQL)

  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment Strategies

  • Expertise in container virtualization utilizing Docker and CICD using Jenkins

  • 2+ years leading a team of high performing engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise with git version manager

  • Knowledge of a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Node)

  • Experience working within the commercial Azure platform

  • Experience developing solutions with GoLang

  • Data Modeling and data management

  • Unit and Integration testing experience
