All Abilities Internship Program (up to 15weeks)


The All Abilities Internship Program is an innovative and collaborative program between UnitedHealth Group and the National Employment Team that serves as a conduit to local Vocational Rehabilitation Centers and Community Resource Partners across the U.S. This competitively paid internship is open to all individuals with disabilities who are interested in developing or enhancing their professional skills in a corporate setting. This program will provide a potential opportunity for conversion to a full-time or part-time role within the organization.


All Abilities Internship Program is designed to:




  • Provide competitively paid health care career skills training in one or more of the following areas: customer service, healthcare economics, informatics, analytics, clinic-based business practices, quality improvement, risk management, provider, and/or staff and patient experience improvement practices.




  • Prepare candidates for a corporate role




  • Be a platform to explore healthcare career paths



  • Teach new skills and provide hands-on experience through 12-15 week workforce development program opportunities and collaboration with UHG employees

POSITION SUMMARY:


This role is responsible for supporting the Sales team as well as Executive Leadership to ensure market readiness by creating and delivering timely, relevant, cohesive messages and materials that support the goals and objectives of UHC Employer & Individual's Local Markets.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Create impactful communications deliverables:




  • Design and coordinate company communications, including internal and/or external communications.




  • Build professional presentations with creative graphics




  • Create a meaningful and impactful story by synthesizing information and priorities – represent these priorities and key points using graphics and text




  • Design Advanced PowerPoint Presentations




  • Draft Executive Summaries




  • Create Infographics



  • Write clear and persuasive email communications, articles


Conduct Research:



  • Manage updates for reform and regulatory section of CTM, track down current information, work with SMEs


Connect to Market Support:




  • Organizing/Posting on Sales intranet site: Responsible for intake, tracking, consultation and fulfillment of Sales intranet site content requests—all under strict deadlines to make the information available to Sales as quickly as possible.



  • Full-Time Hours (40hrs) are available with scheduling flexibility *


This role will be Virtual starting on September 14th and will last 15 weeks.


Required Qualifications:




  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher) OR equivalent work experience




  • 5-7 years of work experience (preferred experience in communications, marketing, or graphic design)




  • Proficiency with Office 365 with advanced skills in Word and PowerPoint




  • Graphic and/or Instructional Design experience




  • Requires above average English verbal, writing and editing abilities




  • Ability to review, edit and manage content



  • Ability to provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Customer/user experience knowledge preferred


Soft Skills:




  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a corporate environment




  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team




  • Ability to complete research and provide report out and summary to team and leaders.




  • Create internal communications materials.




  • This role frequently utilizes the computer, keyboard and telephone.




  • The individual may frequently use programs such as Microsoft Word/Excel to enter data, maintain, or process information



  • Requires strong attention to detail.


Physical & Work Environment:




  • Position is mostly sedentary and requires an individual to sit for long periods of time throughout the day.



  • Most of work time is spent on the computer, focusing on a screen and detailed systems.
