The Chief Medical Officer of Chilton Medical Center will play a pivotal role within the senior leadership of the organization. Together with fellow, key decision makers, this individual will take the lead on many critical clinical initiatives.
As the organization pursues its mission of excellence, this individual will:
Work with the President and other senior leaders to build a physician strategy to support the hospital's mission.
Help shape and strengthen the clinical enterprise by creating synergies between the various medical staff entities and its physician constituencies.
Work with the physician community to create quality programs, ensure effective patient throughput and resource management and achieve patient safety.
Provide leadership, accountability and direction to achieve clinical program growth and development.
Ensure that the hospital provides a "user friendly" and technologically advanced environment for its physicians.
- Develop relationships with Chief Nursing Officer and key nursing leaders in support of Magnet accreditation and the quality care of patients at Chilton medical Center.
The Chief Medical Officer will begin this role by first taking the time to gain an understanding of the hospital culture, medical staff membership and dynamics, referral patterns, quality performance metrics, hospital throughput issues and corporate and hospital leadership vision.
The Chief Medical Officer must be a licensed physician with past or current clinical privileges. The Chief Medical Officer will obtain Chilton Medical Center appointment and will be appointed directly to the Attending Staff. The CMO will pay Medical Staff dues and have a vote. The Chief Medical Officer will work a portion of his/her time in a clinical capacity, with the majority of his/her time spent administratively. Preferred Clinical practice of at least 5 years, preferred Administrative practice of at least 5 years. Experience utilizing EPIC clinical information system/electronic health record.
