The Reservationist & Host is responsible for making reservations based on detailed guidelines established to maximize volume and guest satisfaction. They also greet guests, assign tables, check coats, and ensure a gracious and effortlessly elegant experience. As a guest-facing hospitality generalist they respond to a myriad of special requests, problems and issues.
• Make reservations based on detailed guidelines established to maximize volume and guest satisfaction
• Greet guests and assign tables in a manner that maximizes covers, satisfies guests, and evenly distributes server activity
• Check coats using a seamless system that does not involve the guests
• Ensure a gracious and effortlessly elegant arrival and departure experience
• Respond to a myriad of special requests, needs, concerns and issues that guests may have
• Must be willing and able to perform any related or similar tasks assigned by their supervisor
The employee must possess the following experience, education and skills and/or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some comparable combination of knowledge and aptitudes
• Previous luxury guest service experience preferable
• Previous hosting or fine dining service experience preferable
• A good general understanding of restaurant and/or food and beverage operations desirable
• Secondary school degree required
• Warm and engaging personality with good communication and interpersonal skills, especially verbal, with guests, co-workers, management, and other parties
• Excellent grooming and presentation with a good sense of decorum
• Very self-confident and mature; able to manage employees and demanding guests
• Extremely self-sufficient with good analytical, administrative and problem solving skills
• Good discretion and independent judgement in evaluating situations and determining courses of action
• Good self-discipline with an ability to complete tasks independently
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, issues, co-workers and guests in stressful situations and take responsibility in a professional manner
• Strong understanding of cuisine, fine dining and food and beverages
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Physically fit and agile; able to carry 40 pounds
