Under the direction of a Transportation Maintenance Supervisor or a Transportation Maintenance Worker 9, perform maintenance activities Operate equipment used in performing listed tasks. Perform all tasks in a safe manner. Participte in the TMW Work Element Program. Respond to snow events, incidents, and emergencies both during normal work shifts and outside normal work shift.
Required Education and Experience
Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
Transportation Maintenance Worker 6
No specific type or amount of experience is required.
Transportation Maintenance Worker 7
One year of experience equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Worker 6 or Laborer E6 with experience in roadway, roadside, bridge, or sign maintenance, or pavement marking with the required MDOT work elements..
Transportation Maintenance Worker E8
Two years of experience equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Worker, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Worker 7; or, one year of skilled trades experience at the E9 level with required work elements.
Additional Requirements and Information
All newly hired state employees are required to submit and pass a pre-employment drug test and physical (if applicable) prior to their actual appointment. Criminal and driving recods will also be checked if applicable. Any position offer will be conditional until results of the drug test, physical, criminal background, and driving records indicate eligibilty for employment.
