WCNC NBC Charlotte is seeking a Brand Manager who will serve as an internal and external brand ambassador, representing the platforms and products to viewers, our employees, readers, followers, partners and clients. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in an environment where innovation is a priority. Our team members and our audience are at the center of all decision-making. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the brand ambassador for WCNC NBC Charlotte across linear, social media, and digital including platform strategy and content creation.
Work closely with the Marketing Director to help conceptualize the creation of compelling, branded news and entertainment programming and commercial campaigns. Based on the sound strategy outlined in creative briefs, campaigns must clearly and creatively reach stated goals and reinforce the value of the stations' brands. Concepts must work in all media including TV, digital, social, mobile.
Create and execute an internal brand strategy for our Team, with a heavy emphasis on brand education, tactics and its importance to the success of WCNC NBC Charlotte.
Working across all departments, positioning content for high engagement, create a strategy to ensure it reaches social audience(s) of interest, as well as increase visibility in social space; set up comparative metrics and data to monitor results.
Strengthen brands by applying tenets of branding, brand consistency and creative cohesion.
Provide leadership and professional development to an award winning team who are specialists in print, mobile, tablet and digital storytelling and production and marketing/promotion.
Concept, manage and create promotional and image campaigns for WCNC NBC Charlotte.
Work closely with the WCNC NBC Charlotte Information Center on content for social and digital platforms.
Create performance benchmarks and accountability tools.
Job Requirements
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 5 years’ consumer advertising and promotion experience in any of the following segments: television/news, brand management, marketing/digital/advertising.
Superior creative skills combined with a proven track record of high productivity.
High level photojournalism skills, non-linear editing skills including Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, After Effects, and animation software.
Expert in technology trends and mobile content optimization.
Social platforms and brand account management with a strong understanding of social analytics tools.
Keen sense of modern graphic design aesthetic and an understanding of web publishing processes.
A deep understanding of how to connect content to audiences.
The ability to lead teams through the creative process of brainstorming while maintaining a keen sense of how any given project/potential idea may play out in the marketplace.
Duties will include strategic planning and project management and making presentations on behalf of the station.
Stay abreast of cutting edge tools, promotion trends and campaigns.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, film, fine arts, media arts, communications, marketing, public relations or equivalent.
