Job Description




Role Summary/Purpose:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the go-to-market plans for the Lighting Controls & Intelligent Environments solutions of GE Current a Daintree Company. In this role you will utilize technical controls knowledge, marketing expertise, and people skills to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, and impact short-term and long-term business goals. Relying heavily on Lighting Controls, IoT hardware and software background, the Marketing Manager will bring together a complete marketing experience for our portfolio of edge devices, sensors, and controls, influencing across commercial functions to determine market potential, positioning, feature prioritization, and sales & channel enablement. Will also serve as the steward for our Daintree and LightSweep brands.


Essential Responsibilities:




  • Understand the environment of assigned products including market size, competitive landscape, pricing dynamic, distribution channel and promotional opportunities


  • Develop and implement innovative plans for increased and new market penetration, including selecting target markets, scoping new products, establishing promotional plans, and recommending strategic actions to grow market share


  • Cultivate a ONE Current mentality and drive understanding around full customer solutions over individual product transactions


  • Build and maintain solid relationships with global stakeholders, including product management, vertical marketing, demand generation and sales, among others


  • Commercialize new products with robust launch plans and support throughout market introduction


  • Drive the development of processes, tools, and frameworks that can standardize product marketing activities across product lines


  • Utilize Voice of Customer (VOC) research to develop customer-centric benefits, messaging, and value propositions for business execution


  • Provide the global sales and marketing teams with sales-enablement tools


  • Execute strategies that drive opportunities and ultimately increase product line revenues


  • Identify and articulate emerging trends, then develop corresponding strategies that translate insights into opportunities and result in competitive advantages that increase sales


  • Ensure continuous gathering and reporting of competitive intelligence and market movement





Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Marketing, preferred

  • Proven technical aptitude over a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the Controls / Connected Lighting space with experience in the IoT Smart Building industry a major plus

  • Must be consummate team player with excellent interpersonal skills able to develop relationships and influence at all levels and across cultures, including with customers and industry organization

  • Track record of getting results through strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Logical thinking and ability to balance long-term strategic viewpoint with tactical execution

  • Outstanding communication skills and strong analytical acumen

  • Demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects successfully

  • Experience working in a matrix organization
