WHO ARE WE?
We are a Martial Arts gym that offers fitness and self-defense classes to adults and children. We combine a family-friendly atmosphere with a professional level of combat sports training.
The Front Desk Person is someone who is able to remain friendly and professional while handling a variety of responsibilities and situations concurrently.
Your smile welcomes guests into our martial arts studio. You are responsible for learning the names of members and their families. Should be at least somewhat familiar with martial arts and fitness and are interested in learning about and ensuring all practices and interactions at the studio are consistent with the NMA brand, values, and philosophy.
This position reports directly to the Manager and is part of a team.
There are two parts to the role. As well as keeping us in order, you will be greeting our customers, making them feel at home and comfortable, and setting appointments for new members.
Must have flexible work schedule (Our shifts are: Monday through Thursday 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Friday evenings)
CRM database experience preferred (MindBody Online, Infusionsoft, ZenPlanner etc).
Experience working with both PC and Apple computers, and Microsoft Office a must.
Positive and welcoming attitude.
Have a desire to always improve.
Must be customer service oriented with a high attention to detail.
The ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced environment.
Self-starter who works effectively within a team as well as independently.
The ability to maintain strong work habits including excellent attendance and punctuality.
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize.
Must quickly become familiar with National Martial Arts and its philosophies.
Able to communicate professionally with fellow staff members and clients.
You will need to:
Ensure all visitors (students and prospective students) are made to feel welcome.
Conducts studio tours to first time visitors when needed.
Answer phone calls and emails.
Resolve payment issues, deal with membership changes, and update records.
Ensure new students have everything they need and know where they need to go
Keep all the records and admin is up to date and accurate
Make sure everything is filed correctly
Explain studio processes and overall martial arts etiquette to new students.
Check students in for classes.
Ring up retail purchases, seminars, memberships and gift certificates.
Assist with studio cleaning and organization as necessary.
Hourly based on prior experience
