Dog Walker/Pet Sitter Wanted in Portland Metro
Spend your work day enjoying dog walks around Portland neighborhoods or visiting cats, dogs, and other pets in their homes.
BellyRub Pet Services is looking to add professional dog walkers/pet sitters as part time & full time Independent Contractors to our team.
COMPENSATION - Paid by assignment. Average hourly can be $15-$22. You'll be paid as an independent contractor.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
EXPERIENCE - Professional or volunteer experience working with all types of dogs of all sizes and temperaments along with cats and other animals.
KNOWLEDGE - Know basic dog walking/handling skills, must be able to walk, restrain, and redirect 1-2 dogs at once. Must be willing to obtain Pet First Aid and CPR Certification, Willingness to learn to administer medications.
TRANSPORTATION - Must have a reliable car, valid driver's license/car insurance.
AVAILABILITY - Must be available to work daytimes, evenings, weekends, holidays. The most typical range of hours needed are 7am-10am & 4pm-7pm for pet sitting and 10am-3pm for dog walking. Additional optional opportunities for overnight pet sitting.
PHYSICALITY/ENDURANCE - Must be able-bodied and fit enough to walk one to five miles a day in all types of weather, and have the endurance and patience to handle driving and traffic.
COMMUNICATION - Computer and smart phone with texting, preferably with camera and email. Can respond quickly and easily, without delay.
HONEST / RESPONSIBLE - Possess strong mental and ethical traits so that you act responsibly and professionally at all times. Reliable, conscientious, punctual and can think on your feet, able to stick to a schedule 100% of the time. Positive attitude and flexibility required. Be honest and provide reliable references. We do background checks and call references.
