Salary Range: $60,837 to $78,721 / Per Year Open Period: 2/18/2020 to 12/31/2020 Summary: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Note: Employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied Education Successfully completed a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. (You must provide copy of transcripts with your resume). Licensure Passed the National Council Licensure Examination AND possession of a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. (You must provide a copy of your license and/or registration along with your resume). In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-9 One full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or above) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, or Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program. Examples of experience include: work experience as a registered nurse that includes care coordination for a panel of patients, chart review, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Experience utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, coordinate with outside facilities in order to ensure all patients receive the appropriate level of care in a timely fashion and patients receive outstanding fiscally responsible care. OR Possess a master's degree in professional nursing. GS-10 1 year of specialized experience that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: registered nurse work experience that uses the knowledge, skills, and abilities gain through possession of nursing certification such as case management, care coordination, diabetes education, infection prevention, wound care, ambulatory care, etc. Nursing certifications are offered through nursing boards. Each certification has its own requirements, however, each certification signifies a demonstrated expertise in the area the nurse is certified. Condition of Employment - Nursing Certification In addition to meeting the basic requirements of education, license, experience (or related master degree) additional certification is required as a condition of employment. A nursing certification in case management, case coordination, or other related certification indicating the RN (registered nurse) has the competency to provide care coordination and/or complex direct patient care is required before meeting the grade GS-10 which is the full performance level of this position.
