Sr. Electrical Engineer

Seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer for a great company in Memphis. This is a direct hire position with full benefits and great compensation.



POSITION SUMMARY

Work closely with all internal departments and customers to successfully estimate, design, manufacture, and install automotive conveyor systems. Supervise other engineers and CAD operators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Have extensive knowledge and the ability to design the following conveyor systems:

-Power and Free conveyors (both overhead and Inverted)

-Friction conveyors (both overhead and Inverted)

-Electrified Monorail conveyors (both overhead and Inverted)

-Vertical drop lifters and other transfer equipment

-Slat conveyors

-Skillet conveyors

-Shuttle conveyors

-Other automotive conveyor systems

  • Evaluate and Estimate jobs

  • Have the ability to create and interpret technical drawings using both 2D and 3D computer aided drafting (CAD) software




  • Have extensive knowledge of design and safety regulations as they relate to conveyor systems (i.e. OSHA, AISC, etc.).




  • Perform analysis of jobs to create a sequence of operation

  • Work with customer to develop a set of Approval drawings

  • Use AutoCad to create drawings

  • Manage other AutoCad users including subcontractors

  • Check drawings of myself and other engineers

  • Coordinate with purchasing of pricing for components for jobs

  • Purchase and track parts required for job

  • Develop PLC program for job including configuration, comment development, and ladder logic

  • Develop HMI program for job including configuration, screen development, and PLC logic

  • Write maintenance manual, and develop a parts used listing

  • Coordinating with site personnel to make sure proper installation is performed.

  • Site commissioning including debug of electrical installation, HMI/PLC configurations, and operational capability

  • Performing onsite training with maintenance personnel

  • Reading/making time charts to translate into PLC program

  • Manage subcontractors for engineering in-house and onsite

  • Perform electrical checkout of complete equipment in panel shop

  • Have the willingness to travel and work with people from all over the world


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent program

  • Proficient with AutoCad, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Proficient with PLC5, PLC500, Control Logix 5000, Omron CX (CS1/CJ2), Mitsubishi (A-series/Q-series), GE Machine Edition (90-30/90-70), Sharp, Yaskawa, Pilz, and Toyopuc PLC software

  • Proficient with Allen Bradley HMI (600/1000/1000+/Panelview Plus), Omron (NS), Mitsubishi GOT (800/900/1000/2000), Proface, and Cimplicity HMI software

  • Proficient with RSNetworks (Ethernet/Controlnet/Devicenet), Omron CX Integrator. Omron Network Configurator, Mitsubishi, and other network configuration software

  • Proficient in multiple VFD architectures (AB, Omron, Mitsubishi,Fuji, Yaskawa, et. al.)

  • Ability to self-train in new software without going through a formal training session

  • Self-motivated to complete jobs without having to be managed

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Must be able to work extended hours when needed and be able to work at night or weekends
