The DFPS Information Resource Management (IRM) program seeks a Project Manager 1 to assistDFPS Information Resource ManagementDivision’sProject Management Officewith completingvarious infrastructureprojects related tonetwork, security, data protection, and architecture.

Work involves the following:

DFPS plans to complete several infrastructure projects that require guidance from an infrastructure-knowledgeable project manager.The projects include, but are not restricted to networking, architecture, data protection, and security.The project manager will develop charters, schedules, resource plans, and ensure resources are on track with scheduled work, while managing risks, issues, and action items.

The project manager will direct the work of team members in a matrixed environment and will use strong written and verbal communication skills to analyze and resolve project issues with input from appropriate infrastructure SMEs.

5RequiredUnderstanding of a variety of infrastructure topics, such as information security, networking, architecture topics, servers, and databases
5RequiredAbility to analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues
5RequiredWorking knowledge of project documentation including charters, project plans, work breakdown structures, resource management, status reports, issues logs, action logs, and decision tracking documents
5RequiredLeading Information Technology infrastructure projects
5RequiredWorking knowledge of Project Management Life Cycle processes
5RequiredLeading project teams to the successful completion of projects
5RequiredSkill in interpersonal relationships, including working with people under pressure, negotiating among multiple parties, resolving conflicts, and maintaining effective working relationships
5RequiredAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and SharePoint
5RequiredAbility to communicate project progress and upcoming activities to project resources and all levels of project stakeholders
1PreferredPrefer Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute
