The Home Health Aide is responsible for providing personal care services, comfort measures and environmental services in the patient's home according to written directions prepared by the Registered Nurse and carried out under the supervision of the appropriate professional in order to achieve the stated goals and objectives of the Agency.
Addtional Duties:
Perform a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Adhere to infection control in home setting

Adhere to safety for patient while providing patient care.

Perform household duties as ordered.

Perform procedures as assigned by RN noted on Aide Assignment Care Plan.

Maintain accurate records and submit daily to office.

Communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, visitors, and other health team members.

Understand the position as it is an integral part of the job performance.

Attend in-services and meetings as directed.

Adhere to Guest Relations policy of the Agency.

Comply with HIPAA privacy regulations and maintains confidentiality at all times Required, adequate knowledge of quality nursing practices
Required, able to learn about the aged patient and their needs
Required, ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Required, evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
Required, personal vehicle with current liability insurance
Required, current and valid TX/LA drivers license
Required, current CPR certification
High School Graduate or equivalent
Training and Experience
Required, one year of experience in a skilled nursing facility, acute care or home health setting with classroom and practical experience.
Required, Home Health Aide Services or Certified Nursing Assistant permit by State
Required, completion of basic nurses aide training program evidenced by a certificate or other written documentation
Physical Requirements
Able to bend and stand an average of 6 hours a day
Able to walk, stand, kneel, bend, and climb
Able to lift up to 75 pounds
Able to reach above shoulder and have use of fingers and both hands
Able to hand-write information up to 3 hours a day
Able to work in a stressful environment
Able to drive an average of 250 miles per day
Able to assess and communicate with ill patients in an effective manner
Able to communicate with co-workers and the general public in an effective manner
Good speaking and hearing skills needed
Hours and days may vary depending on business needs and staffing requirements
Will work closely with others both inside and outside of the home
