Creates a developmentally appropriate library/media/information technology program that promotes
learning and personal growth; motivates students to develop skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to provide a
strong foundation for learning, as outlined in our district stated Ends Policy. Responsible for establishing effective
relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians, and community members to enhance learning opportunities.
Subscribes to and applies the principles of Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) for the benefit of student and
Under the direction of the school administration. May oversee the work and training of
Library/Media Technicians, other assigned staff, students, volunteers. Monitors student discipline through an
appropriate classroom management program such as, but not limited to, Positive Behavior Interventions and
Master's Degree from an American Library Association accredited program, or 18 graduate credits from a School Library Media Studies program (or equivalent,) including a practicum experience.
A minimum of three (3) years of related experience is preferred.
Valid Teaching License (or eligible for licensure) with School Librarian endorsement.
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
Ability to plan and implement lessons based on school and District objectives and the needs and abilities of assigned students.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents/guardians
Ability to keep current with technology trends and utilize technology to enhance student instruction and learning through the use of basic communication and productivity software tools including or equivalent to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Destiny Library Catalog, Student Information Systems, and e-mail.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements, applicable laws, and Board policies.
