Job Description:


Ferguson Enterprises is looking for an experienced Operational Audit Manager to join the Audit Department.


SUMMARY



  • Provide independent, objective assurance and advisory activity designed to add value and improve Group operations

  • Responsibility for redesigning and leading the Operational Audit Program for all North American businesses (US & Canada)

  • Directly manage a team of 6 Operational Auditors

  • Manage additional staff or outsourced support as assigned to audit engagements


TRAVEL/RELOCATION



  • High-level of mobility (35-40%) during the redesign of the Operational Audit Program and less required thereafter

  • Position is remote, living close to a large airport is ideal

  • Relocation assistance offered if ideal candidate prefers to relocate to our Headquarters located in Newport News, VA (However, at this time HQ associates are remote as well)


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide leadership for the department with audit responsibility for the Operational Audit Program

  • Drive and lead the redesign of the Operational Audit Program whose mission is to provide audit assurance over key operational, commercial, financial, compliance, and IT risks in the branch and Distribution Center network

  • Build a strong network across the Group with senior stakeholders including CEOs and CFOs, ensuring excellent communication with audit clients and audit leadership team

  • Support the Director of Group Internal Audit in planning and setting future direction

  • Support Director of Group Internal Audit in driving the development of the audit team's skill sets and capabilities

  • Deliver high quality audits internationally across the Group

  • Coach direct reports on professional development and quality performance, perform formal appraisals, and manage all hiring, onboarding, and performance improvement needs

  • Prepare professional audit reports for internal approval and publication

  • Articulate/document clear and concise agreed management actions for all observations raised

  • Where applicable, ensure follow up of agreed management remediation actions to deadlines

  • Manage resource requirements in the Operational Audit department, including outsourced support where necessary, and organize scheduling

  • Perform consulting on special projects or assignments as required

  • Perform responsibilities within the Quality Assurance Improvement Program


WORK – RELATED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



  • Professional certifications in Accountancy and Auditing (e.g. CPA, CIA, CISA)

  • MBA preferred

  • Good knowledge of professional audit working practices and IPPF standards

  • 8+ years business experience, audit or finance related, ideally gained within a multinational organization

  • Previous distribution center / branch location audit experience preferred

  • Exceptional influencing and stakeholder management skills. Ability to engage, inspire and influence people at all levels across the Group

  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to converse in business and financial language

  • Proven analytical and project management skills, to include data analytics

  • Preferred knowledge of Sales Force, Oracle, Workday, Transportation Management System, Warehouse Management System, TeamMate+ and Power BI

  • Ability to identify and analyze opportunities to add value

  • Skilled in prioritization, multitasking and managing deadlines

  • Awareness of organizational and cultural sensitivity

  • Customer service oriented

  • Experience managing people and leading high performing teams
