We have one fulltime faculty member in ceramics and use adjuncts to supplement classes in which instructors may be lacking. This position may also involve teaching 3D foundations courses to art majors. Teaching assignments may change each semester and reflect the prior teaching experience of the adjunct faculty.
All faculty must have at least a Master's degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.
MFA degree with some teaching experience at the college level; experience as a graduate teaching assistant may be acceptable. Experience with both high firing and low firing techniques.
