Scion Staffing (www.scionstaffing.com) has been retained to conduct an immediate search for a Healthcare Safety & Emergency Manager for our client in Bellingham, Washington!
Organization overview:

What you'll be doing:
-Develop and implement safety and emergency management programs.
-Ensure the safety of patients, caregivers, and visitors.
-Oversee program policy and procedure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and accrediting bodies.
-Manage the Safety and Emergency Management Department including costs and methods.
-Interview, hire, evaluate, mentor and develop staff members.
-Responsible for operational effectiveness, quality, service environment, and regulatory compliance.
-Direct and manage the Regional Safety and Preparedness Program by organizing individual and committee efforts, as well as advising administration and governing group of vital safety, emergency and preparedness concerns.
What you have to offer:
-Basic Life Support Certification required.
-5+ years of experience in healthcare safety, environmental safety, safety program management and/or emergency preparedness is essential.
-Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), Certified Patient Safety Officer (CPSO) and/or another highly similar professional safety-related certification preferred but not required.
-2+ years of leadership experience.
-Program management knowledge in the areas of safety and emergency preparedness.
-Selected candidate will undergo and background check and drug screen process.
-Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
-Federal Emergency Management Agency training/courses are a plus!
-Occasion work travel required (once a quarter or as needed).
-Intermediate to advanced level proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) and PowerPoint.
-Knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care issues, Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation (HSEEP) Program, chemical safety, disposal, and regulations, as well as Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) extremely favorable.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
