The Village of Trempealeau is seeking a dynamic candidate to join our team for the full-time position of Deputy Clerk/Treasurer. Wages are based on qualifications and experience. The Village of Trempealeau provides a comprehensive benefit package, including paid vacation and holidays, health, life and dental insurance coverage, and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
Desired qualifications include: Minimum of Associate Degree in Accounting or related field and five years of accounting, bookkeeping or financial-based experience. Primary responsibilities include: governmental accounting, auditing, budgeting and debt service management, fiscal reporting, real estate and personal property tax roll, and other duties as assigned. This position will also assist with elections, tax collection, licensing, public records and utility reporting. Some evening work during the year for elections and meetings as required.
Applicants should also possess excellent communication skills, customer service experience, be a team player, as well as detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting programs. The Village is particularly interested in candidates that possess a high level of integrity, problem solving skills, and are creative and enthusiastic.
