While this position will touch many aspects of sales and marketing, the primary areas of focus will center around proofing and editing technical documents and proposals, planning/coordinating events, and leading our PR and social media campaigns.Specific job duties include:Writes, edits, and designs articles, press releases, announcements, video scripts, and general correspondence, and ensures distribution through appropriate channels to intended audiences.Assists in the execution of PR events and community involvement activities.Manages all social media accounts, including creating original and engaging content for all platforms.Identifies opportunities for growth and researches the competition to improve social media strategy.Maintains and updates corporate calendar for all events. Identifies and manages deadlines for all events. Ensures that booth, displays, and collateral materials are shipped to event and accommodations and travel have been properly executed.Works with marketing and sales to craft the messaging for each event and ensures that it is in line with business objectives.Researches additional opportunities such as sponsorships or promotional activities.Manages all event logistics and vendor relationships, in coordination with management, to ensure event space, catering, and other related services are secured.Coordinates print and online advertising with graphic designer, oversees copy deadlines, obtains all necessary approvals and meets copy deadlines.Manages Company website to ensure all information is up to date and new information is posted in a timely manner.Oversees and manages distribution of online and print collateral and promotion/marketing materials, newsletters and briefing documents.Assists with editing and proofreading Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other technical documents to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling and to enforce consistent style.Produces brochures, audio/visual vehicles advertisements, marketing campaigns, etc. and maintains marketing material/literature inventory.Oversees purchasing and inventory of branded promotion items and clothing programs, keeping a ready supply to support marketing campaigns and sales efforts.Stays abreast of latest business news, market trends, researching target markets, and communicating critical highlights to managers.Provides administrative support to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, as needed.Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field, along with 2 years of relevant work experience, or the equivalent combination of experience and education is required.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel is required, as is solid knowledge in the use and etiquette of social media platforms.Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.Requires minimal supervision, strong independent thinker and the ability to team well with others.Must have excellent organizational, writing, presentation and communication skills – both verbal and written.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and execution skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.Highly proactive and adept at planning, including the ability to “think several steps ahead” regarding what is needed.Works well under pressure and can effectively prioritize and manage changing demands.Exemplary interpersonal skills and a and positive attitude to productively interact with vendors, clients, and internal staff at all levels.Demonstrates a high level of self-motivation and strong initiative with the ability to learn quickly and “think outside the box.”Previous experience supervising vendors such as graphic design firms, printers, and audio/visual companies a plus, as is previous experience using a CRM system.Symbiont offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits. Work hours will generally be 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday, though occasionally, earlier or later hours may be required.
