POSITION SUMMARYThe Events Manager leads and implements all advancement events and activities at Dominican High School. The Events Manager works with all members of the advancement team to plan and execute events that are designed to cultivate, recruit, solicit and steward key stakeholders, donors and alumni. In addition, the Events Manager assists with personally cultivating, soliciting and stewarding stakeholders who can support events through underwriting, donating and volunteering.Catholic Identity of Dominican High SchoolCommitment and passion for the Dominican mission and five core values: Truth, Compassion, Justice, Community, Partnership.ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Director of Advancement, helps create a comprehensive development plan each year that includes long-term goals, annual milestones and specific strategies for increasing contributions to the annual fund, capital needs, special projects and planned giving through special events, activities and community builders.Manages all advancement-specific events budgets, both income and expenses.Effectively manages timelines and schedules for event-related teams including advancement staff, volunteers, sponsors, and vendors.Shows effective leadership of all major initiatives that are direct responsibilities of the Events Manager.Helps develop the timeline for assigned cultivation and stewardship events.Works and manages appropriate personnel and provides the necessary direction and details of events with the people who are assisting. Specifically, the Events Manager works with:Advancement Staff TeamLead volunteers for main fundraisers: Golf outing, Knightwalk and Auction.Parent Association BoardEvent-specific volunteersDirects annual Auction.Selects and works closely with Auction chairs to develop, direct and implement the direction and details of the Auction Project.Responsible for securing sponsors, donations and attendees.Directs annual Bill Crowley Scholarship Golf Outing.Assists Golf Outing Committee with implementing all aspects of the event.Responsible for securing sponsors, donations, and attendees.Works with Director of Advancement in selecting key stakeholders at event to cultivate and steward.Directs annual Knightwalk.Leads implementation of all aspects of event.Responsible for securing sponsors and donations.Works with Dean of Students to secure involvement of faculty and students.Work with Academic team to coordinate non-development department fundraising initiatives in the school community.Organizes community building events including Volunteer Appreciation, Grandparents Day, stakeholder socials, campaign kick-offs and others as assigned.Helps ensure the advancement team is producing excellent quality events that reflect the Dominican brand and mission of the school.Assists the Director of Advancement with additional projects as assigned.Personnel/AdministrativeEstablish written goals and review periodically with the Director of Advancement.Create a working environment that is respectful, inclusive and cohesive within the advancement department and peers.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities RequiredAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.Demonstrated ability to achieve goals, influence others and meet deadlines.Ability to effectively analyze and utilize data to increase productivity and enhance results.Ability to communicate creatively and articulately with a variety of constituents.Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.Basic understanding of fundraising, fundraising cycle, and the willingness to learn more.High comfort level and proficiency with current technology.Highly organized, strong ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.Ability to effectively collaborate within a small team environment.Demonstrated ability to be a leader on projects directly supervised by the Events Manager.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.Experience with event planning in a non-profit or corporate setting preferred.Familiarity with mobile bidding platforms and online donor websites preferred.ReportingReports to the Director of Advancement.ClassificationFull-time, ExemptJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $38,000.00 to $44,000.00 /yearRequired experience:Event Planning: 2 yearsnon-profit: 2 yearsRequired education:Bachelor's
