InSinkErator®, a business unit of Emerson™ (NYSE: EMR) and the world's largest manufacturer of food waste disposers and instant hot water dispensers for home and commercial use, is currently seeking a Vice President of Global Marketing to provide the overall direction for the development and implementation of InSinkErator’s global strategic marketing objectives and plans.
This is an executive position reporting directly to the Business Unit President and is responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined marketing strategy that supports InSinkErator’s growth objectives. This position also serves to solidify and strengthen our visibility and brand to both external customers as well as our employees.
In this vital role, the main responsibilities include:
Set the strategic direction by establishing strategic marketing plans and identifying growth initiatives to support revenue and margin targets.
Lead product management including product planning, product roadmaps, pricing, competitive benchmarking and commercialization. Additionally, this position works closely with product development to prioritize development activities and streamline the product development process to increase velocity to market.
Oversee market and competitive intelligence activities, including monitors competitive products and marketing activities.
Responsible for all traditional and digital marketing channels including retail merchandising, e-commerce, SEO/SEM, social media, direct mail, etc. Manage the development, implementation, measurement and reporting of integrated marketing programs.
Oversee branding and advertising activities to maintain a consistent corporate image and position ISE in the marketing place. Additionally, lead PR and media relations, serving as the primary point person for media outreach efforts, including television, radio and print interviews and press releases.
Direct an integrated social media communications strategy, including strategies for Facebook, Twitter, blogging, Pinterest and other communications activities.
Develop marketing revenue forecasts and operating budgets and managing to those forecasts.
Direct Environmental Engineering and advocacy efforts.
Build effective teams and create a culture of development in the Marketing and Product Planning departments by directing work, conducting performance appraisals and development plans and effectively staffing the departments.
Additional Information:
Typical office environment. Periodic travel to national, regional and state trade shows required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. MBA strongly preferred.
Ten years of global marketing experience required. Retail and multi-channel experience is highly desirable.
In depth understanding of marketing, including product marketing, strategic marketing, merchandising and commercialization.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills. Possess the ability to interact with people across various functions and world areas and lead without direct control.
Excellent project management skills including planning, organization, implementation, achievement of deadlines and ability to multi-task in a fast environment.
Demonstrated competence with general computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet.
