About The Team

Financing Engineering builds the systems that make travel more accessible — the credit, instalment, and pay-later experiences that decide a price is never the barrier between a traveller and their trip. You will engineer real-time credit decisioning, instalment flows, and payment journeys that hold up across Southeast Asia's wildly different markets, where regulation, credit infrastructure, and consumer readiness are never the same twice.

This is product engineering with real stakes: every checkout you ship moves money and trust. You will own services end to end across backend, web, and mobile, design for resilience and compliance from the first line of code, and watch your work convert into trips taken by millions. About The Job

As a Mobile Engineer in Traveloka's Financing Engineering team, you are a competent individual contributor who independently delivers features in our iOS or Android app — directly shaping how travellers across markets discover and book the right property at the right price.

• Independently design, build, test, and ship features across Financing
• Own the technical quality of your work: well-modularized and secure components
• Ensure your components are reliable, diagnosable, monitored, and reusable
• Make sound implementation decisions and choose appropriate architecture patterns (MVVM-C or equivalent) for the problem at hand
• Optimise for performance, memory, and crash-free experience in a high-traffic app under real-world network conditions
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in production, and contribute to incident postmortems with clear root-cause analysis
• Drive engineering hygiene through thorough code review, unit and integration testing, and architectural design reviews
  
  

Job Requirements

• You have at least 1 year building production mobile apps, or you have built equivalent depth in practice.
• Android: You write clean Kotlin (and Java where needed) and build native features with the Android SDK, with a sound grasp of the activity/fragment lifecycle, Jetpack, and the platform's UI model.
• iOS: You write clean Swift (and Objective-C where needed) and build native features with the iOS SDK, with a sound grasp of the view-controller lifecycle, UIKit/SwiftUI, and the platform's UI model.
• You translate designs into responsive, accessible screens.
• You integrate with REST or GraphQL APIs, and reason about state, navigation, and offline behavior.
• You write tests that catch real regressions.
• You care about what users feel — app start time, jank, battery, and behavior on a poor connection.
• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• You use AI tools to move faster.
• You own the quality and performance of what ships regardless of how it was drafted.
• You can explain and defend an implementation choice with evidence — a trace, a profiler session, a crash you fixed.
• You back your implementation choice with evidence, not just a preference.
