The Impact You'll Make in this Role
The Interface Architect (IA) for the Imaging Implementation team is primarily responsible for the discovery, design, development and documentation on all interfaces between 3M and our customers. This individual is responsible for analyzing, planning, building, testing and implementing all Fluency for Imaging and 3M|MModal Scout servers and interfaces following the established MModal best practices. The IA is responsible for all communications with the customer for all aspects of the technical interface and server configurations related to Fluency for Imaging and 3M|M*Modal Scout. The IA will also ensure complete and thorough testing of the interfaces prior to moving them to a production environment following all Configuration Management and other Interface guidelines. This individual is also responsible for ensuring complete and accurate documentation for all aspects of the interface and server configurations within the Client Tech Database. All of the IA responsibilities will be done within the defined scope utilizing cost management skills to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The IA will also assist with special projects and work requests as required
As an Interface Architect, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Gathering and documenting information; assessing requirements for an interface implementation.
Designing the complete interface specifications and interface test plan
Conference call and direct discussions with internal customers, external customers, and implementation team members.
Build interfaces according to 3M Interface standards and client specifications. This includes interface development/configuration within the Connexion interface engine utilizing the C# programming language.
Build Fluency for Imaging and 3M|MModal Scout Windows servers utilizing established MModal best practices and guidelines.
Communicate progress to customer and 3M stakeholders.
Prepare proper documentation for interfaces builds and ensure compliance with all internal audit criteria.
Perform any and all work requests in conjunction with interfaces including additions, changes or system upgrades.
- Provides assistance wherever necessary within the 3M organization (i.e., Support, etc.)
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of eight (8) years of combined or equivalent experience working with HL7 interfaces in lieu of the bachelor's degree education requirement
Four (4) years of experience with interface development
- Two (2) years of experience within the radiology/imaging specialty
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Knowledge of TCP/IP and socket communications, MS SQL database management and configuration, Windows Server environments, programming background, and HL7 protocol.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments.
Ability to analyze issues and problem solve effectively.
Previous experience with C# programming language
- Previous experience with implementation and training for HL7 interface related applications and processes.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required
