Metal Fabricator - Roll Forming

We're looking for a Metal Fabricator to join our Roll Forming department in Arvada, CO.

Primary Purpose


As a metal fabricator in the roll-forming department of our Arvada, CO location, this position's primary function is to follow daily manufacturing work orders, travel to the assigned job sites and roll-form panels onsite for our customers and contractors in a timely, safe, and productive manner.


Essential Functions



  • Set up and operation of various metal panel roll forming machines; Manufacturers include New Tech and Rollformer. Includes changing out various profiles on the machines and making adjustments by observation and using equipment-monitoring tools.

  • Follow daily manufacturing work orders giving special attention to various materials, profiles, special ribbing, perforating and striation tooling and adding any needed specific notations.

  • Driving company truck and equipment trailer for long distances, including in adverse conditions; occasional overnight and out-of-state travel to jobsites.

  • Interact with customers at the jobsite with the utmost confidence and respect, and following work orders/instructions while working closely with the customer.

  • Crate/palletize finished panels and goods in shop or at jobsite.

  • Perform quality checks to verify proper lengths, widths, paint finish discrepancies, and weights are adhered to using the necessary tools.

  • Perform preventative maintenance & repairs on machinery and equipment, ensuring they are functioning according to the established work and safety standards.

  • Ability to drive a truck with a hitched trailer, with comfortability backing up a trailer.

  • Driving a company truck with hitched equipment trailer, and comfortable backing up with the trailer, including doing so in adverse conditions.


Equipment Used


This position uses the following equipment in the course of the job duties:


Forklift


Ruler, measuring tape, calipers, and other measuring devices.


Company truck with hitched metal panel roll forming machines.


Working Conditions


The work environment is a dynamic, fast-paced metal fabrication warehouse and contractor jobsites. The ambient temperature fluctuates based on weather and employees are exposed to increased noise levels. This position requires the ability to drive a truck with a trailer, and must be comfortable with overnight travel to long-distance and out-of-state job sites.


Physical Requirements



  • Standing for long periods of time, minimum eight (8) hour shift.

  • Ability to walk on concrete surfaces and on uneven terrain for jobsite roll forming.

  • Bend, twist, and proper lifting techniques.

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds minimum.

  • Routinely getting on and off forklifts as needed.


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used



  • Safety toe boots (steel or composite).

  • Company provided safety glasses and hearing protection.

  • Company provided cut resistant gloves and arm guards.


Desired Minimum Requirements


Education: High School Diploma or GED


Licenses/Certifications: CDL A preferred but not required.


Experience: 1-2 years in a metal fabrication environment is preferred but not required.


Technical Knowledge: Basic mathematics, including the use of a calculator


Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.
