JOB QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. High School graduate or G.E.D. 2. Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently. 3. Must be able to follow written and/or verbal instructions. 4. Formal education and/or experience must be proportional to the degree of difficulty and responsibility of this position (to include certificates, personal business, vocational training, and a specific knowledge of school finance and accounting theory and application, as applied to school districts). 5. Must be able to read and interpret manuals and other technical materials related to field. 6. A minimum of five years of governmental accounting (two years preferably with a school district) and be familiar with automated fund accounting principals and procurement rules, preferred. 7. Must have training in the Infinite Visions Accounting System. 8. Must be able to operate equipment generally used in the field of accounting, 9. Must have a good to excellent proficiency in Word and Excel. 10. Must possess working skills in governmental accounting principals and practices as applied to school districts. 11. Must possess working skills in and knowledge of deductions and reporting forms for withholding tax, retirement, social security, insurance, and other salary deductions as required or authorized. 12. Must be able to perform difficult mathematical computations. 13. Must have the ability to analyze financial data, and knowledge of working solutions to misdirected funds. 14. Must be able to successfully interact with students, staff and the public in a positive manner.


JOB DESCRIPTION:


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Including, but not limited to the following) 1. Provides accounting services essential to the preparation, administration, supervision and control areas responsible for as found in the USFR, Fair Labor Standards Act and District Policies. 2. Reports to the Director of Finance amounts of warrants drawn, the accounts against which the warrants have been drawn, and the balance of each account per month. 3. Ensures information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality. 4. Refers non-job specific inquiries to appropriate departments. 5. Prepares financial and other budget reports as required by School Board and auditors. 6. Prepares payrolls, including deductions for withholding tax, retirement, social security, insurance, and other salary deductions as required or authorized. 7. Prepares and maintains all necessary earnings, deductions and associated personnel payment records and reports. 8. Cooperates with the auditors and provides information to them as requested for the appropriate department function. 9. Other duties as assigned.

Must be physically able to sit for extended periods of time however, will involve walking and/or standing for brief periods of time. 3. Must be physically able to perceive the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, and the manual dexterity to operate equipment necessary to fulfill the duties of this position.
