The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to announce the recruitment for a Registered Nurse 2 at our Washington Soldiers Home (WSH), a skilled nursing facility located in Orting (near Puyallup).
This position will work from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with Tuesday through Thursday off.

WDVA operates four veterans' homes in Port Orchard, Orting, Spokane, and Walla Walla providing Medicare and Medicaid nursing care for honorably discharged veterans, to include, in some instances, their spouses, widows or gold star parents.

Under direction supervision of a physician or supervising nurse, and in accordance with current standards of practice, functions as a responsible licensed member of a health care team.
Prepares, carries out, evaluates, and revises treatment plans for individual residents based on recommendations of a physician.
Under physicians' orders, passes medications, administer, monitor and record treatments, and assesses the condition of the resident.
Makes nursing assessments of residents as necessitated by the condition of the resident, and on a quarterly basis for the completion of the minimum data set (MDS).
Direct and supervise subordinate nursing personnel.Required Qualifications:
Current and valid Washington State License to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Long term care experience.
One year experience as a RN.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
Must comply with health screening requirements by undergoing a tuberculosis skin test.
