What You'll Do

The Certified Surgical Technicians are an integral part of the Hillcrest Hospital South team. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, preparing and assisting surgeons during operative and invasive procedures.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Responsible for assisting in the care of patients under the direction of a RN within the Operating Room and/or surgery environment

  • Possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique Accurately set up surgical instruments and equipment to ensure equipment is working properly and sterility is maintained

  • Ensures the operation rooms (C-Section) and patient rooms (vaginal delivery) are safe, while ensuring equipment is functioning properly and procedures are being performed with the utmost safety

  • Assist with patient preparation for the Operating or Delivery rooms

  • Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons while assisting holding retractors, cutting sutures, counting needles, instruments, sponges, etc… Accurately label, store and analysis specimens from surgeries


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Possess an accredited Surgical Technologist Certification

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Surgical Technologist within a hospital environment

  • Ability to demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills on a daily basis

  • Be willing and able to maintain professional standards of practice and adhere to Hillcrest's Code of Conduct policies at all times

  • Ability to demonstrate intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and be willing and able to learn company specific software programs

  • Must possess strong organizational, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and ability pay attention to details
