POSITION SUMMARY


Partners with customers across various channels to ensure "best in class" service, and to maximize supply chain efficiencies for both the customer and Smucker. Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset to identify ongoing productivity gains for Customer Logistics Department, and the overall supply chain. Ensures a high degree of focus on relationship building with internal and external constituents (i.e. customers, sales, third-party brokerage firm) to research and resolve order and shipment discrepancies to ensure service goals are met/exceeded. This individual should have an interest in supply chain with strong collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication skills.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Analyzes customer EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) orders of finished goods (and manual customer purchase orders) daily to ensure accurate pricing, ordering constraints, and sourcing locations to maximize supply chain efficiencies for both the customer and Smucker.




  • Reviews customer orders and collaborates with internal supply chain teams to resolve inventory availability issues at Smucker Distribution Centers to maximize customer case fill rates.




  • Responsible for idea generation, maintenance and utilization of department tools and dashboards to identify supply chain trends and opportunities through data analysis.




  • Identifies cost savings and avoidance opportunities and assists in implementing to drive improvement.




  • Champion strong partnerships with internal and external customers, while identifying supply chain opportunities that benefit both the customer and Smucker. Serves as the single point of contact for all inquiries related to order management activities while maintaining a cost/service mindset and ensuring effective communication.




  • Collaborates cross functionally to monitor the performance of third-party freight carriers and warehousing service providers to meet/exceed customer and Smucker service goals.




  • Maintains customer supply chain scorecard information to monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and provide the root cause and corrective action when goals are not met.



  • Manage individual daily responsibilities and special projects to support current business activities and needs.


SELECTION CRITERIA


Education



  • Bachelor's Degree required. Business or Supply Chain degree is preferred.


Experience




  • At least 1 year of related business experience is required (inclusive of internships)



  • Experience in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry is a plus


Other




  • Effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to build relationships with internal and external customers.




  • Intermediate Excel skills (V-Lookup, Pivot Table, Formulas)




  • Strong problem solving, and analytical skills needed in managing complex business situations and achieving objectives.




  • Ability to organize information and actively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in time sensitive situations based on customer needs.




  • Ability to display indirect leadership across other functional areas to accomplish customer goals.




  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.




  • Career interest in the Supply Chain field preferred.




  • Data visualization tool experience a plus (i.e. Spotfire, Tableau)
