Purpose


The Raw Materials Coordinator is responsible for requisition and control packaging supply inventories in support of optimum scheduling, manufacturing and customer service processes.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities


The Raw Materials Coordinator is responsible for requisition and control packaging supply inventories in support of optimum scheduling, manufacturing and customer service processes.



  • Review JDEdwards and ASCP reports to manage material shortages and manage supply requirements. Run shortage reports for corrugate (KP, KB, and misc. corrugate), core stock and mats. Manage slow moving and obsolete (SLOB) inventory and work with the Master Production Scheduler (MPS) to determine whether to write off or move to another mill

  • Finite scheduler will consult with Raw Material Coordinator on expected use of KB's and core stock for new items so the scheduler can supply the Master Data team 08 pricing

  • Responsible for accurate cycle counting of all raw materials including, parent rolls, reject parent rolls, poly, kds, core stock, pulp, broke, chemicals, glue, inks and other related raw materials

  • Place orders for core stock and coordinate with core stock and corrugate vendors to ensure adequate inventories are available to support production schedules and plant operations

  • Responsible for running the Receipts Not Vouchered (RNV) report and managing invoice exceptions and RNV's for core stock, corrugate and mats

  • Day to day coordination and communication with corrugate, core stock and print plate suppliers. Escalate corrugate supplier non-conformance to Corporate Purchasing Manager

  • Works with plant to make sure yields are properly calculated and paper usage is properly recorded. Works with business analyst to make sure that systems are in place to accurately reflect yield

  • Communicate with pulp buyer, papermaking and distribution coordinator, as needed, regarding coordination of pulp deliveries

  • Work with distribution coordinator for outbound loads to other facilities. Primary paper responsibility remains with Lewiston

  • Track vendor performance and on time deliveries

  • Coordinate raw material inbound loads with Lewiston

  • Manage KD Print Mat Inventory

  • Inventory glue and ink weekly

  • Review and Reconcile outstanding in-transit orders

  • Reconcile JDE to fix any inbound and outbound inventory discrepancies

  • Enter raw material and chemical lines to purchase orders and reconcile at month end

  • Manage all shipment and cycle count paperwork filing

  • Conduct operating supply counts and order supplies as needed to keep minimum fill levels

  • Troubleshoot EXL/OPI issues and approve payments

  • Calculate pallet run rates, order pallets weekly, and request reject returns

  • Participate in safety and GMP audits

  • Work with Tissue Machines and Converting on reconciling inventory locations

  • Manage tote returns


Education/Experience


Education and/or experience in inventory control and material requirement:



  • Must have strong computer skills using JDEdwards software, Excel and other MS Office programs

  • Must possess strong professional communication skills

  • Must have strong planning and organizational skills

  • General knowledge of plant operations and production scheduling is required

  • Minimum of three years of inventory control background in a manufacturing setting.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or related field or equivalent experience is required.

  • Warehouse Automation experience is a plus.

  • ASCP experience and knowledge is a plus
