Job Description:


Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy's Personnel Modernization (PersMod) team is seeking a Web Developer to support the further development of an Authoritative Data Environment (ADE 2.0). This position may be supported remotely.


The Developer will write, test, and debug back-end code that supports websites and web based applications. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and familiarity with both the Java programming language and related technologies, such as a relational database like Oracle.


Work closely with the User Experience Manager and the Transition Lead to ensure that final products adhere to predetermined budgets, scope, designs, and shape visitors' experiences. Create page layouts (headings and paragraphs), website styling (colors and fonts), and page features (animations and pictures).


Present to clients a prototype of a website to help them understand what the finished product will be. Maintain the website as new features are added or old features are updated, ensuring these changes are implemented smoothly and that they do not disrupt the website's features.


Basic Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training or work experience.



  • 5 + years of experience with the following:


  • Object Oriented Programming Languages using Java




  • Eclipse Integrated Development Environment IDE




  • Developing projects using the Agile Methodologies




  • Working with Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JavaScript, NodeJS, jQuery, react, HTNML5, CSS3, JSP, Servlets




  • Maven




  • Oracle PL/SQL Programming language, and the ability to use CRUD via Java




  • Extensive knowledge of Web Design and Development methodologies such as the SDLC




  • Ability to successfully communicate with distributed development and test teams




  • Proficient knowledge of Data Warehousing and Data Marts with a basic understanding of database design methodologies




  • Security+



  • Secret clearance


Preferred Qualifications:




  • Working Knowledge and experience with the Navy's personnel systems.




  • Ability to clearly and concisely describe in written form, software problems and anomalies.



  • ThymeLeaf, MS Project, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Visio, Tableau, Axon, Oracle, Serena Dimensions


The likely salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
