POSITION SUMMARY


Depending upon the team and area of focus, the HR Assistant supports a variety of technical processes within the HR department which may include: coordinating data entry and reporting functions related to the personnel and payroll systems; administration of the workers compensation claims; and/or facilitation of internal recruitment for selected jobs. The HR Assistant may also be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of information in various HR / payroll systems; working with applicant processing, data entry, forms processing, report generation, letter composition, and assisting with activities such as presentations and events; and assisting with other assignments as required. In this role, the HR Assistant work is in a team environment with a significant amount of customer and team interaction.

QUALIFICATIONS


Education

  • Associates degree preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years clerical experience in a Human Resource or equivalent setting is required

  • Database administration experience, preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio or similar program, preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent data entry, grammar, word processing skills

  • Ability to organize and prioritize within realm of duties

  • Problem solving ability as well as ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

  • Experience compiling data from multiple sources

  • Math skills and ability to work with numbers and statistics

  • Basic proficiency level in Excel (creating and updating tabular spreadsheets)

  • Customer service skills and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
