Associate E&I Drafter

Job Overview:

The Associate E&I Drafter is an entry-level position, and their work is completed with close supervision and support. They work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods and adhere to quality guidelines. The Associate E&I Drafters should have basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process and appropriate licenses/training certifications.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assist and/or prepare accurate and detailed electrical and instrumentation shop or detail drawings, schematics, and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software as directed
• Gain experience in 2D drafting, 3D drafting, and/or model creation by assisting and/or preparing discipline deliverables including but not limited to tray support drawing and plans; voltage-wise segregation; as-built drawings and other miscellaneous electrical and instrumentation drafting support
• Collaborate with other electrical drafters to develop electrical designs, ensuring compliance with design drawings, project specifications, and fabrication requirements
• Coordinate with the lead drafter to resolve technical issues
• Conduct regular self-inspections and quality checks to verify adherence to design drawings and electrical codes and ensure work complies with McDermott and project QA and/or QC systems and procedures
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to E&I Drafting and design
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements and implementing efficient drafting techniques
  
  

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• A minimum of senior high school diploma or equivalent with a focus on technical drafting or design
• Familiar to proficient in using CAD software, such as AutoCAD, to develop accurate and detailed technical drawings
• Entry to less than 3 years of drafting or design experience
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes for drafting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
• Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with the E&I Drafting team
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills to identify and address technical challenges in developing technical drawings
