The Business Development & Project Manager will support OWC’s continued growth across the renewables sector in Southeast Asia. This role will focus on identifying new opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and delivering high-quality advisory and technical projects across their lifecycle. Working closely with developers, utilities, investors, and government stakeholders, you will play a key role in positioning OWC as a trusted global advisor in renewable energy. Combining business development with hands-on project delivery, you will secure new work while managing a diverse portfolio of projects spanning wind, solar, and energy storage—both onshore and offshore.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and execute business development strategies across renewable energy markets.
- Identify and convert new opportunities across advisory, engineering, and project services.
- Provide specialist advisory and technical input across wind (onshore/offshore), solar (PV/FPV), and BESS projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, utilities, investors, lenders, and government stakeholders.
- Lead proposals, tenders, client presentations, and commercial negotiations.
- Track market activity, maintain pipeline visibility, and contribute to strategic growth plans.
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Lead and deliver renewable energy projects across the full lifecycle, including feasibility, due diligence, owner’s engineering, and construction support.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and performance against KPIs.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Provide clear reporting to clients and senior management.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong relationships and high levels of satisfaction.
- Manage client expectations, contract delivery, and compliance requirements.
- Support technical proposals, development strategies, and bankability assessments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, technologies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Contribute to business performance targets, including revenue and profitability.
- Support team development through mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in internal initiatives, R&D, and continuous improvement of consultancy capabilities.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Balance chargeable project work with business development and internal contributions.
What are we looking for?
- Educated to bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or a related STEM discipline,
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience within an engineering or renewable energy consultancy environment.
- Proven track record in both project delivery and business development within the renewables sector.
- Experience delivering renewable energy projects across technologies such as wind, solar (PV/FPV), or BESS.
- Solid understanding of the full project lifecycle, including development, construction, and operations.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify opportunities and build long-term client relationships.
- Ability to lead and manage projects independently, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and balancing competing priorities.
- Strong technical capability in one or more relevant specialist areas.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
