As the Production Head, you will be responsible for leading the Ammonia & Utilities production teams, ensuring product quality, operational excellence, and full compliance with QHSE standards. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Ammonia plant operations for those with a Chemical Engineering degree
- Minimum 20 years of experience in Ammonia plants with KBR Purifier Technology for personnel without a Chemical Engineering degree
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Proven leadership in cross-functional coordination and team development
Strong knowledge of:
- Ammonia plant and Utilities operations
- Process Safety Management
- Analytical approaches to chemical process optimization
- QHSE systems and compliance (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, British Safety Council audits)
- Mechanical systems: pumps, fans, compressors, turbines, boilers, furnaces, etc.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead Ammonia production operations with a focus on safety, product quality, and volume targets
- Manage and guide Ammonia & Utilities personnel in daily operations, shift rosters, performance evaluation, development, and emergency response
- Ensure effective cross-department collaboration to meet organizational KPIs
- Implement and optimize standard operating procedures and process documentation
- Identify and mitigate operational risks proactively
- Take corrective and preventive actions related to deviations in Mass & Energy Balance standards
- Ensure zero deviations from QHSE standards and promote continuous improvement
- Monitor and control annual expenditures, optimizing costs while maintaining operational performance
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and environmental standards
- Coordinate with Head Office and external stakeholders as needed
- Engage with technology licensors (KBR) and vendors for technical services, catalyst evaluation, and chemical treatments
- Maintain relationships with regulators, auditors, and industry peers to support current and future operations
