Job Summary
The Inspector Scaffolding is responsible for overseeing all scaffolding activities related to hull treatment and ship repair projects. The role ensures that scaffolding operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, company procedures, and industry standards.

The Inspector Scaffolding is responsible for overseeing all scaffolding activities related to hull treatment and ship repair projects. The role ensures that scaffolding operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, company procedures, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities

- Act as the Scaffolding Inspector in charge of repair projects and oversee scaffolding activities for 1–2 vessels, depending on the scope of hull treatment work.
- Coordinate directly with Project Managers onboard and receive instructions from Owners’ Representatives regarding scaffolding requirements and agreed work scopes.
- Verify and confirm all Hull Treatment (HT) scaffolding requirements with Clients and Project Management Teams.
- Supervise and control scaffolding subcontractors onboard, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and project requirements.
- Ensure all work activities are covered by Risk Assessments (RA), with appropriate control measures implemented to prevent incidents and accidents.
- Comply with and enforce the NOVADE Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
- Monitor workforce attendance and maintain accurate timekeeping records for scaffolding personnel.
- Ensure scaffolding activities are completed within the required quality standards and project schedule.
- Prepare and submit work progress reports and related documentation as required.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications :
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in shipyards, ship repair, marine, or offshore industries, specifically in hull treatment and scaffolding operations.
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding standards and regulations applicable to shipyard, marine, and offshore environments.
- Ability to assess, estimate, and quantify scaffolding requirements for vessel hulls, tanks, and structural areas.
- Good understanding of scaffolding planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for multiple vessels simultaneously.
- Strong coordination and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage subcontractors and monitor work performance effectively.
- Good communication skills with proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Physically fit and capable of working extended hours when required to meet project deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in critical situations and fast-paced project environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Owners’ Representatives, Clients, Project Managers, Paint Inspectors, and other stakeholders.
- Proficient in computer applications and capable of preparing reports and work-related documentation.
- Available to support departmental operational requirements as needed.
- Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in any discipline, or Senior High School/Vocational School (SMA/SMK) qualification.
- Certified Scaffolding Supervisor with a minimum K3 certification.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Basic computer literacy is preferred.
- Minimum 7–10 years of shipyard, ship repair, marine, or offshore industry experience in a Scaffolding Supervisor or similar supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of scaffolding safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate scaffolding teams and subcontractors effectively.
- Good planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for coordination with clients, owners' representatives, project managers, and operational teams.
