Japanese Editorial Analyst (Remote in Indonesia)

• Must be located in Indonesia* - Schedule: Monday - Friday UCAN; 10pm - 7am local time (night shift) About the RoleOur client is scaling a copy workflow for synopses across its global content catalog. As a Synopsis QC Evaluator, you will be responsible for reviewing synopses for the client's titles, assessing whether they meet the client's Foundational Quality Standard before publication. You will evaluate both series-level and episodic synopses, working across a high volume of titles spanning genres, formats, and languages.
  
  

What You'll DoQC Evaluation

• Review series-level and episodic synopses for accuracy.
• Apply applicable error codes across various quality categories to determine the pass or fail status of generated synopses.
• Assign an error severity rating (1-4 scale) for failed synopses.
  
  

Calibration

• Participate in regular group calibration sessions to resolve evaluation disagreements and align on error code application.
• Attend periodic quality syncs with the client team to discuss standards, edge cases, and feedback.
  
  

What We're Looking ForRequired

• Native or near-native Japanese fluency with exceptional command of written English, including grammar, syntax, style, and register.
• Background in film, television, or entertainment, with a deep understanding of storytelling across genres and formats (series, films, limited series, reality, documentaries, animation) and global content.
• Strong editorial judgment and exceptional attention to detail-you catch what others miss.
• Ability to make confident, consistent pass/fail decisions under time pressure.
• Comfortable working in structured digital workflows and data entry tools (Airtable experience is a plus).
• Collaborative mindset-calibration is a core part of this role, and alignment with your team is essential.
  
  

Preferred

• Prior experience in copy editing, content writing, metadata, localization, or entertainment quality control.
• Familiarity with streaming content across a variety of genres and regions.
• Experience working in RLHF or annotation workflows.
• Ability to identify culturally sensitive and inclusive language issues across a wide range of subject matter.
