Maintenance Assistant Manager

We're Hiring: Maintenance Assistant Manager!

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Assistant Manager to join our chemical manufacturing operations in Karawang. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and efficiency of plant equipment and utilities while leading maintenance activities across production facilities.

This position is ideal for candidates with strong experience in chemical manufacturing, water treatment systems, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in planning, organizing, and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability for production and utility systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control-related issues.
• Manage maintenance activities for water treatment facilities, including:
  • RO (Reverse Osmosis) systems
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
  • Demineralization systems
  • Cooling water and boiler water treatment systems
    
    
• Oversee maintenance and optimization of DCS and plant automation systems.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, HSE, and Quality teams to support operational excellence.
• Develop maintenance schedules, work orders, spare parts management, and shutdown planning.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs such as equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop maintenance technicians and contractors to achieve operational targets.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and reduce downtime.
  
  

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  
  

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
• Strong experience with:
  • Water Treatment Systems (RO, WWTP, Demin Plant, Cooling Water Systems)
  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Industrial automation and instrumentation
    
    
• Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS/SAP PM preferred).
