Manager, Business and Legal Affairs - Indonesian Content

Netflix seeks a seasoned, intellectually curious business and legal affairs executive to join our team in Jakarta, Indonesia. This role will handle business and legal affairs for our Indonesian content initiative that licenses, commissions, and markets Indonesian films and series for Netflix’s global streaming service. The successful candidate will serve as a key collaborator to Netflix’s Indonesian content and marketing teams and will be responsible for providing clear, actionable, and strategic business and legal affairs advice to drive business objectives. Additionally, they will be responsible for structuring, negotiating, drafting, and closing content deals; providing legal support for production and marketing of Indonesian films and series; and building and managing internal and external relationships with key content and production partners.

This position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with periodic international travel, including to Netflix’s office in Singapore.



Requirements

The successful candidate must be fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (spoken and written), with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively in both languages.

This person must have experience advising on business and legal issues in the entertainment, media, and/or intellectual property industries. Experience drafting and negotiating contracts in the film or television industry in Indonesia (in licensing, production, financing, and/or distribution) is required.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Serving as a business partner and key collaborator to Indonesian content and marketing executives.
• Providing clear, actionable, and strategic business and legal affairs advice.
• Deal structuring and contract drafting and negotiation in Bahasa Indonesia, with a focus on content licensing and acquisition, and on original content development and production
• Conducting industry and territory-specific research
• Working cross-functionally to maintain alignment between departments
