Job Overview:

The Mechanic Senior Superintendent position demands a comprehensive understanding of mechanical principles, workforce leadership, and expertise in various disciplines, including compliance, risk management, and logistics. This role requires leveraging extensive industry experience to enhance productivity, mentor personnel, influence company-wide workforce management processes and policies, and resolve technical, operational, and organizational challenges that impact project success.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical maintenance department, developing and executing maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of all mechanical systems and equipment
• Establish and maintain a safety-first culture, rigorously enforcing mechanical maintenance safety protocols in line with OSHA standards and company policies
• Plan and oversee the execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, as well as mechanical overhauls and equipment upgrades
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex mechanical issues, including rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, and pneumatics
• Manage and mentor a team of mechanical superintendents, mechanics, and support personnel, promoting professional growth and operational excellence
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and procurement, to ensure maintenance activities align with organizational goals
• Analyze mechanical maintenance data to identify trends, improve processes, and implement cost-saving measures
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with equipment suppliers, service providers, and contractors to ensure high-quality maintenance support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and procurement, to ensure maintenance activities align with organizational goals
• Analyze mechanical maintenance data to identify trends, improve processes, and implement cost-saving measures
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with equipment suppliers, service providers, and contractors to ensure high-quality maintenance support
• Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
• Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
• Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
  
  

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field
• Additional professional certifications in mechanical maintenance are preferred
• Extensive experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a proven track record in a senior leadership role
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including expertise in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery
• Strong leadership in managing safety programs specific to mechanical maintenance operations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team of skilled mechanics and maintenance personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Strategic planning and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and build collaborative relationships
